Wine Roads of Mantineia The viticultural zone of Mantineia lies on the plateau that spreads among the mountains of Menalo, Parnon, Artemisio, Ktenias and Oligyrtos, at an altitude of about 600-650m ASL. Both the really good continental climate and the soil composition contribute to the production of the excellent local wines, rich in aroma and fruity flavor. The white, but also some rosé wines of Mantineia are produced from the variety Moschofilero, which predominates in the area. In 1971, vineyards of 500 hectares were approved to produce V.Q.P.R.D. wines. The majority of vineyards are organic, therefore producing high quality wines. Currently, contributing varieties are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewurztaminer, giving Local Wines, such as
