Thematic tourism routes in Peloponnese

Unexplored Peloponnese. Discovering the hidden high-lights of the area with the company of a good local wine. Six different thematic suggestions with a total of 27 trips, lasting from 1 to 7 days.

 

1. Title: “From the Peloponnesian Archanthropus …till the Genesis of Wine”

Theme: The tradition of wine culture in the area.

A long time voyage, from the Palaeolithic era up to the present day, and from the ancient seeds of Nemeaò till the modern wineries.

 2. Title: “Tracing Byzantium, leaded by the aroma of wine”

Theme: Byzantine History.

Thematic category which is based on the local history, focusing on religious monuments (Byzantine Temples, Churches, Monasteries etc.)

 3. Title: "The labours and blood of Hercules”

Theme: Mythology.

The history of Hercules, significant locations of his mythical life and the achievement of 7 of his labours within Peloponnese.

 4. Title: “Peloponnesian wine in the pyramids of History”

Theme: History.

The existence of remarkable pyramids in the area, possibly dating back to the ear of Egyptian pyramids or earlier!

Title: “Libations to the folk and cultural past”

Theme: Cultural – Folk elements.

Morals and mores of Peloponnese. From the revival of races and Pausanias till the personage of Kolokotronis (chief of anti-Turkish revolution) and the local tradition of Peloponnese in viticulture and wine production.

 5. Title: “Libations to the Folk and Cultural past”

Theme: Cultural – Folk elements.

Morals and mores as well as traditions of Peloponnese. From the revival of ancient races and Pausanias till Kolokotronis (the hero of Peloponnese and the entire country in the national revolution against the Turks) and the tradition of Peloponnese in viticulture and wine production.

6. Title: “… For a Glass of Wine in the Nature”

Theme: Environment

The esthetic richness of the area, which permits the visitor to wander through admirable landscapes of outstanding natural beauty.
