Glasses, Jugs

Their choice is certainly not accidental, but neither is it so tough...

Glasses, to start with

The wine glasses are always transparent, white, in order to feature their content at its best. An appropriate glass will permit the character of a good wine to be revealed, whereas an unsuitable glass will condemn even the best of wines.
Different wines are never served in the same glass, regardless if they are red or white. Each wine calls for its own glass.
White wines of recent vintage require glasses with wide openings, which will permit the release of their aromas.
Red wines require glasses with restricted openings, which will assist pleasant scents reach our nose, while at the same time they withhold the alcohol.

Jugs: Little works of art

It is not only a question of looks, but also of taste. And why is that? Large jugs will aide recent vintage wines in having contact with air, which they really need. On the contrary, ripe red wines necessitate small jugs which will not permit intense oxidation. The appropriate jug should have a long neck, it should not be dripping while we serve and should not be too heavy, to prevent accidents.
